Joseph De Wolk

Joseph De Wolk is a research manager at a leading AI research institute, and brings an unusual combination of technology, policy and media experience to Made For You.

He spent seven years as Chief of Staff at Tesla, where he worked intimately with machine learning technologies, oversaw a team of more than 3,000 employees across six global factories, and was involved from the inside in the development and launch of several of Tesla’s in-house AI products.

Before Tesla, Joseph was a communications aide on the Obama presidential campaign and later a White House spokesman. He holds an MBA from MIT and was a graduate researcher in the MIT Media Lab’s Social Machines group.

He also co-hosts a recurring series of invitation-only AI salons in Silicon Valley, intimate gatherings of CEOs, engineers, artists, investors and psychologists that have featured work-in-progress material from the film.
